Round Hill Music Pacts with Neil Sedaka

Billboard’s Ed Christman rounds-up all the big news in the music publishing world.

Round Hill Music have signed on as administrator for the catalog of Neil Sedaka, who began his career in the Brill Building. The catalog includes such songs he wrote or co-wrote as Connie Francis’ “Stupid Cupid;” the Monkees’ “When Love Comes Knocking At Your Door;” the 5th Dimensions’ “Workin’ On A Groovy Thing;” and Frank Sinatra’s “The Hungry Years” as well as songs he recorded himself like “Stairway To Heaven;” “Calendar Girl,” and “Breaking Up Is Hard To Do.”

“Neil Sedaka is a national treasure,” Round Hill Music president Neil Gillis said in a statement.

Sedaka will be releasing a new album, slated for release in August. Entitled I Do It For Applause, it will contain 12 new songs. He is also currently working on developing a Broadway show based on his life, according to the Round Hill announcement.

“I am so happy to be a part of the Round Hill Family,” Sedaka said in a statement. “With the enthusiasm they are showing over my vast catalog of songs, this promised to be a long and mutually beneficial relationship.
