Round Hill Music Enters into Synch Rep Deal with Synth Pop/Rock Band VHS Collection

July 1, 2016

ROUND HILL MUSIC has entered into a synch rep deal with synth pop/rock band VHS COLLECTION. The band was formed in 2014 in NEW YORK CITY by three friends who have been making music together since childhood — CONOR COOK, JAMES BOHANNON and NILS VANDERLIP.
Said ROUND HILL Artist Relations executive AMY BIRNBAUM: “Paying homage to ’80s/”90s nostalgic synth pop and re-imagining the genre as it currently exists, VHS COLLECTION is poised to become a breakout band of 2016. We are lucky to have added this talented young trio to our roster.”

The band has gained a reputation for high-energy live shows as well as its synth-heavy, danceable rock tunes. “Lean,” the lead single off of VHS COLLECTION’s debut EP hit #8 on the SPOTIFY Viral Charts in JANUARY.
VHS COLLECTION call the song “an anthem about childhood in the city and how much you rely on your friends as your coming up in the world. Your family is there for you, but it’s your friends who are really forced to wade through the shit with you on a daily basis. The song contains endless references to our own youth: friends’ band names, places we used to hang out growing up, childhood characters of NEW YORK CITY, all strewn together in a celebratory chant which we call ‘the Renaissance of these days’.”
The band looks forward to releasing more tracks this summer, with scheduled appearances at LOLLAPALOOZA and AUSTIN CITY LIMITS in addition to a run of shows on both coasts.
