Round Hill Music Adds Jonnie “Most” Davis as Senior Vice President, A&R and Head of Label Services

February 28, 2014

Effective immediately, Round Hill Music is excited to announce a new member of its team, Jonnie “Most” Davis in the role of Sr. Vice President, A&R and Head of Label Services. In this role, Davis will oversee Round Hill’s A&R efforts.

“It’s an honor to be part of a team made up of such an elite group of individuals, and a privilege to be a caretaker of some of the most iconic music ever created, both old and new,” remarks Davis about the new position at Round Hill Music.

Davis is a storied producer, engineer and songwriter and has had the distinction of working with some of the most celebrated artists in the world. He’s written, produced, and/or mixed for such artists as Pink, Marc Anthony, Biggie Smalls, P. Diddy, Outkast, Usher, and Santigold. Davis has accrued 20+ gold and platinum records and has been credited on albums with sales topping 100 million worldwide. Above all, and at the core of each of his jobs, Davis is a song man.

After attending Berklee College Of Music, Davis moved to New York City to pursue his music career. After landing his first #1 record, Keith Sweat’s, “Make You Sweat”, he went on to have a long string of hits throughout the ’90s and ’00s. Davis’ extensive discography includes work that has also appeared in hit movies and television series such as Empire Records, Freedom Writers, Mean Girls, Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married?, P.S. I Love You, songs for Dawson’s Creek, and more.

“Davis is a creative force on so many levels. An award winning engineer, producer, songwriter and A&R executive developing great artists and songwriters. I am so happy to have our team call him family. He is our brother and great things will come for having him in our RHM family,” says Neil Gillis, President of Round Hill Music, of the new addition to the RHM team.

In 2011, Davis joined Mirrorball Entertainment, owned by renowned mixing engineer/producer and his old Berklee colleague, Tony Maserati. Davis was brought in to build the infrastructure of its publishing division and grow the artist roster. While there, Davis began consulting for Round Hill Music, as well as other established music publishers, and was credited with the discoveries of Icona Pop’s, “I Love It” and the indie rock group, American Authors, the latter of which led to his appointment as Senior Vice President of A&R and GM of Label Services for Round Hill Music.

“Davis adds another dimension to the Round Hill team with his A&R abilities. His connectivity to songwriters and bands, intense energy and his own experiences as a producer and songwriter will be of great benefit to Round Hill,” says Josh Gruss, CEO of Round Hill Music, about Davis.
