Round Hill Music Acquires Big Loud Shirt Industries Song Catalog

November 10, 2014

Round Hill Music is excited to announce the acquisition of the song catalog of Big Loud Shirt Industries, along with a partnership between the two companies on a joint venture for all future songs. Big Loud Shirt has become one of the most successful and creative independent music publishing companies in the world. The company has successfully built a catalog that includes thirty-two hit #1 songs, sixty singles, and a wide array of award-winners, such as Grammy Award-winning songs like Tim McGraw’s “Live Like You Were Dying” and Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats.” In addition to the song catalog, Round Hill Music has also acquired the assets of Big Loud Bucks, the administration arm of Big Loud Shirt Industries.

Established in 2003 by multiple-award-winning songwriter and producer, Craig Wiseman, Big Loud Shirt Industries is an independently owned and operated music publishing company. Since its launch, Big Loud Shirt has achieved thirty-two #1 hit singles and brought home Grammy Awards for Country Song of the year with Tim McGraw’s “Live Like You Were Dying” and Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats” and “Blown Away”, while also garnering three other Grammy nominations, including George Strait’s “I Saw God Today.”

Big Loud Shirt songwriters have won 14 ASCAP Performance awards, a BMI Performance award, ASCAP Song of the Year awards, People’s Choice Best Country Song, NSAI “Songs I Wish I’d Written”, and ACM, CMA, and IMBA Song of the Year awards. Rodney Clawson and Chris Tompkins are recognized as two of the top songwriters in Nashville. Wiseman himself has been named ASCAP Songwriter of the Year on three separate occasions, and was most recently the recipient of ASCAP’s Heritage Award,  which is awarded to the most performed country music songwriter of the past century.

The catalog includes #1 songs performed by Rascal Flatts, LeAnn Rimes, George Strait, Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, Beverly Knight, Three Days Grace, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, and Toby Keith. Additionally, a number of Big Loud Shirt songs have been cut by Martina McBride, Brooks & Dunn, Nickelback, Plain White T’s, Daughtry, Hinder, Katharine McPhee, Gary Allan, Kellie Pickler, and Boyzone. Songs in the catalog have also appeared in many ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CW, MTV, and CMT shows, including American Idol, The Voice, Extreme Home Makeover, Dancing With The Stars, and Oprah.

Billboard magazine recently recognized Big Loud Shirt as one of the nation’s top ten publishing companies based on radio airplay, largely attributed to Florida Georgia Line’s debut single, “Cruise” which was the fastest rising song for a group or duo since Brooks & Dunn debut and stayed at the #1 position for 3 weeks straight. At the 2013 ACM Awards, Florida Georgia Line was named Best New Artist of the Year. Their second single, “Get Your Shine One” recently went #1 on the Billboard charts, again making the history as the first duo in 21 years to have their first 2 singles land at that top position.

“Our working with Round Hill has felt right from the very first meeting. Josh, Neil, and Richard impressed us with their serious passion for creating a modern music company. Mark Brown is a friend and champion of our work from way back and made the decision even easier. I loved that Seth and I showed up at their NYC Madison Ave offices with a Dixieland street band, a couple of bottles of Fireball, and a bunch of Goo Goos, and they knew how to respond to everything perfectly!!! Happy to still be independent with our new Round Hill partners!!!!!” – Craig Wiseman, Founder, Big Loud Shirt Industries
