Bosshouse Music

July 2, 2014

Round Hill Music is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with Bosshouse Music and its in house artist label, Transphonic Records. The partnership includes the acquisition of 75% of Bosshouse Music’s back catalog and joint venture on all future catalog.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to now be part of the Round Hill Music family and have our songs & score living under the same roof with classics like, “I Saw Her Standing There,” “From Me To You,”  “She Loves You” and “When A Man Loves a Woman,” to name a few”, say Bosshouse founders, Stephen Phillips and Tim P.

Composer/songwriters Stephen R. Phillips and Tim P. formed Bosshouse Music in January of 2000. At the time of its inception, Bosshouse Music was one of the very first all vocal, alt rock song catalogs serving the TV & film community in Los Angeles. Having forged their roots in the LA rock scene and recorded albums for ATCO Records and LA’s BongLoad Custom Records, Tim & Stephen’s musical roots were a blast of fresh air into the generic music library world.

Shortly after forming, 2001 found Tim & Stephen writing original songs and the main title theme for Paramount Television’s rock & roll Twilight Zone adaptation Strange Frequency, which was hosted by The Who’s, Roger Daltry, and aired on VH1. As the show took off, so did Stephen & Tim’s songwriting and scoring careers in television. After Strange Frequency, Stephen & Tim went on to compose over 25 main title themes for TV, also providing the underscore for such critically-acclaimed shows as Reno 911!The 4400, and more recently scoring all 100 episodes of the hit DISNEY / ABC series, Good Luck Charlie. 2014 found the guys scoring the broadcast intro to Super Bowl XLIX for Fox and contributing 36 songs to the fourth season of the hit Showtime series, Shameless.

“Steve and Tim and the music they have created hit on so many of the factors of how we organically build our Round Hill Music business; they are first and foremost great people, they are multi talented creators that have put together a wide variety of high quality and uniquely eclectic works and they have a business that fulfills the next puzzle piece of the building of RHM. We are delighted to be in business with them.”

Amy Roberts was brought on board in 2007 and manages all licensing for Bosshouse. Amy was a perfect addition to the Bosshouse team, having sung on over 20 songs that currently reside in the catalog.

To date, Bosshouse and its newly formed artist label, Transphonic Records, have secured well over 1000 song placements in television, film, advertising and trailers. Iconic shows & films like Dexter, True Blood, CSI, Shameless, Pretty Little Liars, Smallville, Frasier, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, ER, Lost, Diary Of A Wimpy Kid, American Idol, and many, many more have turned to Bosshouse for their music needs. In 2013 Tim & Stephen’s band, the Pow Pow had their song “Keep On” featured in Garnier Fructis Shampoo’s national advertising campaign. Legal Zoom and Invisalign also turned to Bosshouse to score their most recent ad campaigns.

“Our back and future catalogs couldn’t have found a better home.  We’re looking forward to the opportunities this will present us as composer / songwriters and we’re excited with the prospect of what Bosshouse Music and our record label Transphonic can bring to the Table at Round Hill.”
