July 2, 2013

Round Hill Music is excited to announce the signing of Tatiauna “Tatu” Matthews, to an exclusive worldwide publishing deal.

The 25-year-old topline singer-songwriter hails from Indianapolis. Coming from a musical background history of jazz players (The Hamptons) and being raised by her mother who was a playwright and dance choreographer, it’s no wonder that Tatu has a creative flair and eclectic sound that’s hard to pin down to one singular comparison: “I write all different genres of music. I can’t limit myself to just one thing- I have to go outside of the box.” This sterling songwriter is heavily influenced by Missy Elliot, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, just to name a few that inspire her sound.

As a promising songwriter, Tatu has worked on various projects with that range from her own work to contributing to the work of renowned artists.  Tatu has three cuts on the current Eve record Liplock (Never Gone, Zero Below, and Keep Me From You). Her song, “Dream Away” was recorded by upcoming UK boy group, The Vamps. Some of Tatu’s collaborators notably include Phat Boyz (Neyo & John Legend), Espionage, Phil Bentley, Shane Stevens, Tracklacers, Pitchshifters, and C-ray (Stellar/Stargate).  Tatu has also written records for the likes of Eve, Dawn Richardson (Danity Kane), Jessee Cambell from “The Voice,” Chrisette Michelle and much more.  Most recently, the new summer single “Colors” from DJ Headhunterz features Tatu’s stellar vocals.

Since doing music from the young age of 14 to getting signed to Water Music Publishing in 2012, Tatiauna Matthews has come a long way to become the talented Tatu today.  With her motto of “stayin’ humble and determined is all I need,” Tatu’s authentic musical work and genuine approach to her songwriting is a thrilling and fresh addition to Round Hill Music.
